Extra cash benefits for covered accidents

AD&D pays a benefit if death or a serious injury — like the loss of a limb or eyesight — results from a covered accident. It’s inexpensive and a useful add-on, but because it only pays for accidents, it isn’t a substitute for full life insurance.

What It Covers — and Doesn’t

AD&D pays only when an accident causes death or a covered injury; it does not pay for death from illness or natural causes, which is what most families actually face. It’s best viewed as a low-cost booster on top of term or permanent coverage, not as your primary protection.

Best For

  • An affordable supplement to a core life policy
  • People in higher-accident-risk occupations
  • Extra protection at a very low cost

Frequently Asked

Is AD&D enough on its own?

No. Most deaths result from illness, which AD&D doesn’t cover. It’s a helpful, inexpensive supplement — but your core protection should be a term or permanent life policy.
